Change of scenery !

The Dorney to Putney row took place one week later than intended (27/28 June) and stopped at Chiswick after we got held up for an hour at Richmond Lock. Nevertheless, a good time was had by all, with nothing more serious than a few blisters and a touch of sunburn. Pictures to follow.

"Wey to Row" Beginners Rowing Courses

Unfortunately we have had to postpone the next beginners course to September - apologies to those who were looking forward to it. Email us now to reserve a place - the sessions will probably be on Sunday afternoons with a few on Wednesday evenings if it is light enough.

President's Reception

Our President, Greg Jones, is hosting a lunch time reception next Sunday, 29th March, to kick off the summer rowing season. All members welcome, lapsed members do come along as well and get going again!

Summer Rowing Sessions

As well as our regular sessions on Saturday mornings at 11 a.m. and Sundays at 10 a.m., once the clocks change we should be able to start evening rowing on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7 p.m. We have a beginners course starting on 15th April, so please make them welcome, and once they get going join in and row with them, since your experience will help them to learn!

ARA Touring Dinner

45 rowers from all round the country attended the ARA Tourers Dinner on Saturday 14th March at Leander Club, Henley. Our special guest was Rosemary Napp, National Manager of the Amateur Rowing Association, who emphasised the ARA's support for recreational rowing. John Turnbull announced details of this year's ARA tour - see our touring page for details.

Ladies Morning Rowing Group

The Ladies Morning Group has moved to Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. All levels of experience catered for, including beginners. Coaching will be provided by Christy Job, the ARA Club and Community Coach for Thames region, with support from experienced club members. Contact Greg Jones for more details.

Hide A'Wey

The Weyfarers summerhouse has suffered during the cold weather - due to a burst pipe one of the kitchen walls got soaked with water and the units have fallen off. We will be organising a work day in the Spring to replace the units, touch up the paintwork and generally spruce things up. Be prepared!

What is Weyfarers?

We are one of just a handful of recreational and touring rowing clubs in the UK, formed for and by people who think rowing should be FUN!

Then maybe YOU should try recreational rowing!!

Don't get us wrong - we don't just paddle around. We aim to improve our technique and get fit, just like our more competitive friends. But our horizons are wider.....

Here's what we do:
